Yes, Hugh Jackman’s The Greatest Showman Has a Wolverine Easter Egg
Michael Gracey’s The Greatest Showman has hidden a Wolverine Easter egg in its opening credits as a nod to Hugh Jackman’s time as the clawed Canadian.
While the top-tapping musical and the world of comic book movies may seem a million miles apart, it appears that even The Greatest Showman couldn’t escape Jackman’s 17-year tenure as Logan in Fox’s X-Men movies and the Wolverine trilogy.

Posted on Reddit by fan irie_feeling, the opening credits of The Greatest Showman includes an ornate border and what looks like Wolverine’s adamantium claws poking out from his arms crossed over his chest.
The same shot of Jackman posing was famously used for the poster of James Mangold’s The Wolverine from 2013. While this doesn’t officially put The Greatest Showman into a shared universe with the X-Men, it’s a cool homage to Jackman’s critically-acclaimed performance.
Treading the boards as P.T. Barnum in Gracey’s movie, The Greatest Showman was Jackman’s first movie role after Mangold rounded off his trilogy with Logan. Following his musical outing, Jackman then appeared via archive footage in David Leitch’s Deadpool 2.
First playing Wolverine in Bryan Singer’s X-Men from 2000, Jackman became synonymous with the character. The Greatest Showman Easter egg proves that even after the 49-year-old has put down those adamantium claws, the ghost of Logan continues to haunt him.
Jackman himself has joked about the possibility of a Wolverine musical after the success of The Greatest Showman, while rumors of him eventually returning as the fan-favorite X-Men member continue to circle.
