SDCC: Deadpool 2 Debuts A Very Interesting Wolverine Post-Credits Scene

While Hugh Jackman has made it very clear in the past that he’s done playing Wolverine, an alternate version of the Deadpool 2 post-credits scene screened during Fox’s Hall H presentation at Comic-Con International last night may hint at his return in a future film.

According to ScreenRant, Fox presented three new scenes that will be included in the extra 15 minutes of the Super Duper Cut of Deadpool 2, and ended the panel with an updated version of the epic post-credits scene, which also featured the deleted baby Hitler scene. However, that wasn’t the only addition to the post-credits scene, as the X-Men Origins: Wolverine time-travel sequence is extended to tease a potential return for Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in X-Force.

In the original theatrical cut of the Deadpool 2 post-credits scene, Deadpool goes about correcting the timeline by interrupting X-Men Origins: Wolverine‘s climactic fight between Wolverine and Weapon XI, the much ridiculed version of Deadpool. After killing Weapon XI, Deadpool tells Wolverine he loves him and shoots Weapon XI a few more times.

The updated version of this segment of the post-credits scene has Deadpool saying more to Wolverine. Most notably, Deadpool tells Wolverine to say “yes” should he show up in the future to recruit him, presumably for X-Force. Deadpool then shoots Weapon XI one more time before walking off.
