Richard Swift, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter, died Tuesday morning in Tacoma, Washington. He was 41 years old.
The news was confirmed on his Facebook account, which posted an image of Swift with the following: “And all the angels sing ‘Que Sera Sera’. Richard Ochoa Swift. March 16, 1977 – July 3, 2018.”
His untimely passing comes only a month after Swift had been hospitalized from a “life-threatening condition,” which prompted him to create a GoFundMe account for his medical bills.
In the wake of the news, his longtime collaborator Dan Auerbach, who he played alongside in both The Black Keys and The Arcs, paid homage this morning via Instagram:
