Final Sharknado Trailer Delivers with a T-Rex Battle, Dragon Sharks
It’s about time!
SyFy’s infamous Sharknado franchise is set to finally end with the premiere of The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time, which is set to debut on the network this evening. While the franchise has proven to be a phenomeon of sorts, overtaking social media, and becoming an annual event for fans, there’s no denying that the Sharknado films are as terrible as they are entertaining. And The Last Sharknado looks set to take the cake as the final installment introduces time-travel — and dinosaurs! — into the mix, as seen in the final trailer.
Poking fun at other genre films, the trailer for The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time begins by stating it’s based on “the incredible true story,” before showcasing The Today Show’s Al Roker who urges viewers to go outside and enjoy the beautiful day, insisting there may not be another one like it. Naturally, this segment is quickly followed up by bad CGI sharks invading the beach as a Sharknado forms over the ocean, before the emergence of Ian Ziering’s Fin Shepard as he goes back in time to try and reset things — only to see a Shark devour an unsuspecting T-Rex.
And as if that wasn’t crazy enough, Fin finds himself face to face with people he thought to be dead… in prehistoric times… at Merlin’s castle. From there? Well, the trailer only gets crazier.
