As reported by The Takeout, 10 Barrel, also of Bend, Oregon, has collaborated with the store on the brew, a black ale fittingly titled The Last Blockbuster. The beer will makes it debut on Sept. 21, with a release party at the Bend Blockbuster location. The Last Blockbuster ale will also be available at 10 Barrel’s six brewpubs — two in Bend and one in Portland, Oregon, as well as Denver, Boise and San Diego — for a limited time.
The beer is labeled as a “S1nist0r black ale with nuances of red licorice,” with S1nist0r being the name of a schwarzbier — a dark, German-style brew with roasted malts and a cocoa flavor — that 10 Barrel has previously brewed. A press release from the brewery states that The Last Blockbuster “pairs perfectly with buttery theater popcorn and your favorite movie-sized chocolate with a light body, smooth finish and hints of nostalgia.”
