Wonder Woman 1984: Robin Wright Confirmed For Flashback Sequence
Robin Wright will reprise her role as the fan-favorite Amazon general Antiope for a flashback sequence in Wonder Woman 1984.
Her involvement in director Patty Jenkins’ sequel is confirmed in a lengthy profile of the House of Card star by Net-a-Porter. No other details are provided beyond that she filmed the sequence in Spain with Connie Nielsen, who debuted as Diana’s mother Queen Hippolyta in the 2017 film.

Diana’s aunt and mentor in Wonder Woman, Antiope sacrificed herself to save her niece during an invasion of Themyscira by German soldiers. Wright previously reprised the role for a flashback sequence in 2017’s Justice League.
Wright expressed interest last fall in returning for a Wonder Woman follow-up, saying, “I would absolutely go back and do a sequel. For sure … c’mon. Girl power!”
Fondly remembered for her roles in such films as The Princess Bride and Forrest Gump, Wright has starred more recently in Moneyball, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Blade Runner 2049.
Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot as Diana, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah, Pedro Pascal and Natasha Rothwell. The film opens Nov. 1, 2019.
