Watch The Stranger Things Kids Freak Out Inside The Show's Haunted House At Universal

Halloween is right around the corner, and the time is right to dive back into the world of one of Netflix's spookiest series: Stranger Things. The second season premiered shortly before Halloween 2017, and although fans don't get to ring in Halloween 2018 with the third season, Universal Studios is offering a way for folks to walk through Hawkins and even the Upside Down with a Stranger Things-based haunted house maze. The Stranger Things kids gave the maze a shot, and you can watch them totally freak out below:
Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Gaten Matarazzo, and Priah Ferguson visited Universal Studios to walk through the Stranger Things haunted house maze, and they clearly weren't entirely prepared for what they would face when they ventured into Hawkins. Naturally, the Demogorgon had an early appearance to scare the pants off of any who dared enter, and the kids were appropriately freaked out. There was screaming, there was jumping, and Caleb McLaughlin ended up on the floor due to the shock of the Upside Down monster popping out.
The kids then progressed into the Byers' house, and it looks like Universal spared no expense in recreating that particular abode. Caleb McLaughlin and Gaten Matarazzo seemed more or less prepared to see the Demogorgon attempting to push through the wall, much as it did in Season 1, while Season 2 newcomers Sadie Sink and Priah Ferguson were taken much more by surprise. All four got a shock at the Demogorgon attempting to get in through the window! Matarazzo even dropped a very Dustin-esque "Holy shit!" at that particular shock. Of course, according to Matarazzo, the scariest thing in the whole maze was actually the fake Dustin.
The boys were more psyched than scared when they got to the recreation of the Season 1 finale scene that featured Eleven's showdown with the Demogorgon to save Mike, Lucas, and Dustin. Interestingly, the frights of the Stranger Things maze seemed taken at least mostly from the first season, so Sadie Sink and Priah Ferguson wouldn't have seen a whole lot necessarily familiar to them from their work on the second season. Ferguson never even made it into the Byers home in Season 2, although it's possible that will change in Season 3. Erica is slated to have a much bigger role when the show eventually returns with new episodes next year.
Personally, I got a laugh out of the beginning of the video when the kids were first venturing into the maze. The three teenagers had young Priah Ferguson in front of all of them to experience the frights first. They did mix up the order later and reassuring hugs were shared by all, but there was something entertaining about the trio of teens putting Ferguson in front like a sacrifice to the Demogorgon.
The only bummer is really that two of the kids were missing, as both Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard were absent. Maybe they were busy with Season 3 and were unable to make the trip! Eleven and Mike are bound to have more scenes together in Season 3 now that Eleven is officially among the living to her friends. Only time will tell. Stranger Things will be back next year at some point, but you can always celebrate Halloween by rewatching the first two seasons and/or -- if you're lucky -- visiting the Stranger Things maze for yourself at Universal Orlando, Hollywood, or Singapore. Netflix also has a different spooky series hitting the airwaves in time for Halloween, so the fall TV season won't be entirely without scares this year.
