Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus Knows Which MCU Character He Wants to Play
The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus knows which Marvel Cinematic Universe role he wants: Ghost Rider or Silver Surfer.
Speaking at Walker Stalker Con’s “An Evening with Norman & Jeffrey,” Reedus was asked which Marvel character he’d like to play. “Ghost Rider would be fun. Silver Surfer would be fun,” he shared.
Known for playing Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead, Reedus is already at home riding a motorcycle and could be primed to take on the role of Johnny Blaze, aka Ghost Rider. Also, as a self-confessed surf enthusiast, it isn’t hard to see why Silver Surfer would be another popular choice for the 49-year-old.

If Reedus were to join the MCU in any capacity, he has the potential work alongside Walking Dead co-stars Jon Bernthal, who plays the Punisher, and Dania Gurira, who stars as Okoye in Black Panther.
Blaze was played by Nicolas Cage in 2007’s Ghost Rider and 2012’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Ghost Rider also appeared in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with Gabriel Luna as Robbie Reyes, but the character of Blaze only had a minor cameo.
Disney’s upcoming buyout of Fox will bring the Fantastic Four and characters like Silver Surfer to the MCU. The character last appeared in Fox’s The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer in 2005 and was played by Doug Jones with voice work from Laurence Fishburne. Brian K. Vaughn had been working on a Silver Surfer movie for Fox earlier this year, but the merger has cast doubt over the status of the movie.
