Venom Director Confirms Riot Will Battle Eddie Brock, Along With ‘Other Villains’
During the Sony panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego, additional information regarding Tom Hardy’s Venom was released to the attendants of Hall H, regarding who the villain will be in the film.
Director Ruben Fleischer announced that the symbiote Riot will be a major adversary for Eddie Brock in the movie. “Riot can kind of show up anywhere,” Fleischer said, explaining what will make him a big challenge for Venom to face.
“We stayed pretty close to the Lethal Protector,” Hardy said of the approach the film took to Eddie Brock.

Though not confirmed, it is believed Riz Ahmed will take on the villainous role of Riot. In the comics, Riot is one of five symbiote offspring of Venom created by the Life Foundation. With the film featuring multiple symbiotes, there is a pretty good chance we’ll also get to see Riot’s “siblings,” Lasher, Agony, Scream and Phage.
Arriving in theaters Oct. 5, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, Scott Haze and Reed Scott.
