TV Ratings: 'Big Brother' Leads But ABC Games Win Sunday
'Family Feud,' 'Pyramid' and 'To Tell the Truth' drive a nightly win.
An oddly prolonged holiday week wrapped up on Sunday night, which brought another win and some slight improvement for Big Brother.
CBS’ summer reality jaunt averaged a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49 and 5.1 million viewers at 8 o’clock, incremental improvements from the its Sunday of the the season one week earlier. Going head-to-head with ABC’s Celebrity Family Feud, Big Brother retained the edge in the key demo but placed second for the night among total viewers. Family Feud, which took a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49, held at 6.3 million viewers for its hour.
It was ABC that led primetime, overall, by both measures thanks to a full-ish lineup of its games block. After Family Feud, The $100,000 Pyramid (0.9 adults) and To Tell the Truth (0.8 adults) both held even.
NBC had two new efforts with Running Wild With Bear Grylls, fatigued in its Sunday showing with a 0.3 rating in the demo, and Shades of Blue. The latter held at a 0.5 rating.
Over on Fox, special One Strange Rock continued to draw lackluster linear returns in its second window from National Geographic’s original run. Sunday’s episode took a 0.2 rating in the key demo, while the Ghosted burn-off continued with a 0.4 rating. Fox finally canceled the series during the last week of June.
