TV Ratings: ‘America’s Got Talent’ Looms Large on Tuesday
The CW also launches acquisition ‘The Outpost’ to little fanfare.
Tuesday brought another strong win for NBC and America’s Got Talent, as the CW launched new summer drama The Outpost to fairly crummy results.
It was America's Got Talent’s 2.1 rating among adults 18-49 and 11.4 million viewers, modest lifts from the previous week, that loomed over primetime on both broadcast and cable. The series also posted television's top audience delivery, across all of the dial, in three weeks — easily besting World Cup coverage and the Big Four's reality-heavy offerings.
World of Dance held steady at No. 2, giving NBC another 1.3 rating in the key demo.
The rest of the dial was also in line with the previous Tuesday’s performances. Fox had flat outings of both Beat Shazam (0.7 adults) and Love Connection (0.5 adults). And, on ABC, a new The Last Defense earned a 0.5 rating among adults 18-49 after comedy repeats and a special 20/20 (0.6 adults) at 9 o'clock.
After a new episode of The 100, which took a 0.3 rating in the key demo, the CW launched sci-fi acquisition The Outpost. It garnered very little linear attention, slipping from its lead-in and posting a 0.2 rating among adults 18-49 and a mere 780,000 viewers.
