Tim Allen Compares Toy Story 4 to Avengers: Infinity War
Star Tim Allen offers new insight on what audiences can expect from Disney-Pixar’s latest (and biggest) chapter in the Toy Story saga, Toy Story 4. According to Allen, who voices vintage addled astronaut Buzz Lightyear, the film is going to be one you’ll need tissues for.
“I gotta resist getting emotional because I don’t want to give it away, but this is an incredibly great story,” Allen told The Talk, comparing it to Disney’s other juggernaut film, Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War.

“…[I]t didn’t seem like it was going to work, but it was a lot of vignettes that all made sense,” he said of Infinity War. “…Toy Story 4… it’s so emotional, it’s so funny, it’s so big the idea they’ve come up with. I’m startled. [Toy Story 3] was, what I thought, amazing. [With] this, I couldn’t even get through the last scene…A couple of the scenes toward the end are really hard to get through.”
Toy Story 3 has maintained a rare 99-percent freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes, thanks to its focus on deep and meaningful themes surrounding the existentialism of growing up and growing older. If we go by what Allen has said, it seems like Toy Story 4 will annihilate everyone’s emotions.
Toy Story 4 arrives in theaters June 21, 2019, and also stars Tom Hanks, Patricia Arquette, Annie Potts, Kristen Schaal, Joan Cusask, Laurie Metcalf, Bonnie Hunt, Jodi Benson, Jeff Garlin, Blake Clark and Estelle Harris.
