The CW's 2019 Midseason Schedule Reveals New Debuts And Changes Nights For One Superhero
1 hour ago
It feels like the fall 2018-2019 TV season just got started, but shows are already nearing their winter finales. But we know they'll be back, and The CW just updated on exactly when some shows will mark their midseason returns. The network also scheduled one brand new series for January 2019, and switched around some air dates. Here's the midseason lineup:
FRIDAY, JANUARY 11, 2019
9 to 10 p.m.: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (Midseason Return)
TUESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2019
8 to 9 p.m.: The Flash (Midseason Return)
9 to 10 p.m.: Roswell, New Mexico (Series Premiere)
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 16, 2019
8 to 9 p.m.: Riverdale (Midseason Return)
9 to 10 p.m.: All American (Midseason Return)
THURSDAY, JANUARY 17, 2019

FRIDAY, JANUARY 18, 2019

9 to 10 p.m.: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (Original Episode)
SUNDAY, JANUARY 20, 2019
8 to 9 p.m.: Supergirl (Midseason Return)
9 to 10 p.m.: Charmed (Midseason Return)
MONDAY, JANUARY 21, 2019
8 to 9 p.m.: Arrow (Midseason Return)
9 to 10 p.m.: Black Lightning (New Time Period Premiere)
THURSDAY, JANUARY 24, 2019
8 to 9 p.m.: Supernatural (Original Episode)
9 to 10 p.m.: Legacies (Midseason Return)
On the superhero front, you can see that Black Lightning Season 2 is moving to Mondays, following Arrow, starting January 21. Why? Black Lightning is leaving Tuesday nights to make room for the new series Roswell, New Mexico, which will follow The Flash starting Tuesday, Jan. 15. That new show -- starring Grey's Anatomy and So You Think You Can Dance alum Jeanine Mason -- is the second TV series to adapt the Roswell High book series.
What about DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 4, which currently airs Mondays after Arrow? Well, that show will return to Mondays in April, after Black Lightning finishes its second season.
The CW announced another new series, In the Dark, will debut on Thursday nights after Legacies finishes its 16-episode Season 1. Also, Jane the Virgin will start its final season on Wednesdays this spring, once All American finishes its first season. And don't worry about iZombie and The 100, since they are returning this spring, too. The CW just hasn't scheduled those premiere dates yet.
Of course, The CW still has a lot planned before the end of 2018. For example, the latest Arrow-verse crossover, "Elseworlds" -- featuring the debut of Batwoman -- starts Sunday, December 9 with The Flash; continues Monday, December 10 on Arrow; and conclude Tuesday, December 11 on Supergirl.
