If you have seen the original Sicario, then you likely already know how intense it gets. That hasn't changed at all with the debut of Sicario: Day of the Soldado because while Stefano Sollima's sequel is very different from the film that preceded it, it still very much captures the dark and bleak tone of the Sicario brand. The film is so intense that I recently had a chance to ask newcomer Isabela Moner how she would decompress after her most intense sequences, and she explained that Kit-Kat bars helped her quite a bit. Moner told me:

I was very tired afterward. I'd still be crying. I couldn't stop crying. You feel it. It's real... I ate Kit-Kats. Yeah. So the crafty guy on set knew this, and he would bring me a Kit-Kat like all of the time. One day I walked into my trailer, it was around Christmas time and he had fifty Kit-Kats waiting for me, at least. At least fifty. It was so sweet.

We all need a way to unwind after a long day on the job. That's particularly important when your job involves screaming and crying for a living. It's easy to imagine how the stress of working on a movie like Sicario: Day of the Soldado could've gotten to Isabela Moner, but the craft services department had her back and let her cool off with some Kit-Kats.

Warning: spoilers ahead for Sicario: Day of the Soldado! Read ahead at your own risk!

The scene in question that Isabela Moner was talking about comes towards the middle point of Sicario: Day of the Soldado. It's the convoy ambush sequence told almost entirely from her perspective (a la Children of Men) with explosions and gunfire off in the distance. The camera stays on her character throughout the entirety of the scene, and as the actress explained, it left her incredibly drained when all was said and done. That scene is also the moment in the movie that Isabel and Alejandro (Benicio del Toro) go on the run from Josh Brolin's Matt Graver, so things only get more intense from there.

Luckily, Isabela Moner won't have to stick solely to these dark and depressing movies for too long. In addition to her work on this latest Sicario, the Transformers: The Last Knight star has also been tapped to take on the role of Dora the Explorer in an upcoming live-action adaptation of the beloved cartoon. Day of the Soldado may have been a rough, R-rated adventure, but Dora might be somewhat easier to handle in terms of raw emotion.

Sicario: Day of the Soldado is now in theaters.
