Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Is Getting A Special Switch Console And A New Character
2 hours ago
Big games always come with some special goodies. Many gamers have been spoiled with lots of special editions, limited editions, and collector's editions of certain AAA titles and the accompany paraphernalia that adds some extra spice to the package. Nintendo is looking to spice up the overall offerings for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate by offering gamers the opportunity to purchase a special limited edition Nintendo Switch console that comes with an original livery based on one of the brand new characters revealed during the most recent Nintendo Direct.
During the September 13th Nintendo Direct it was revealed that there will be a special edition Nintendo Switch with a cover designed to display the Super Smash Bros characters on the left and right side of the Nintendo Switch logo.
The livery scheme is monochrome, so it blends with the natural look of the Switch's black docking station. The bundle also comes with a downloadable copy of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
There's even a custom Joy-Con pack that comes packed in with the console and the game. The custom Joy-Con set features a white stripe going down the left Joy-Con while a second white stripe goes across the to the right Joy-Con.
The ultimate bundle will be available for purchase starting November 2nd. This also accompanied the news that Isabelle from Animal Crossing will be joining the fight as one of the participants in the big 'ole brawl.
Isabelle has a number of silly attacks, including many based on her appearance in the slice-of-life simulator. This includes using a fishing rod to fling opponents into the air, or using a party horn to blast opponents away. You can use her to air-juggle foes using the twin pom-pom attack, or unearth a rocket to knock back incoming foes. All of her attacks are pretty goofy, but it matches the lighthearted tone of the Animal Crossing series.
Nintendo is really aiming to ramp up the appeal of the Switch by bringing in so many different characters and content. Heck, there's even going to be some custom Joy-Con controllers based on the upcoming Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee games, so you could technically grab the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate bundle, along with the custom Pokemon Joy-Con controllers, and enjoy some four player battles in the upcoming side-scrolling brawler.
The game seems to be getting more and more jam-packed leading up to its release, housing more content than can even be counted. I'm curious how the team will even be able to fit it all on a single cartridge.
Even some of Nintendo's own developers are worried about how much more can be squeezed into the Super Smash Bros. franchise at this point, as the series has just blossomed into this huge content-hungry dinosaur. Anyway, if you don't already have a Nintendo Switch and you are a huge fan of Smash Bros. then you can look for the brand new custom limited edition version of the console to go live this November.
