If you're looking to beef up your gaming library on the cheap, a new collection of titles known as "PlayStation Hits" has been announced, offering 15 of the PlayStation 4's biggest games for $19.99 apiece. From first party exclusives to third party hits and spanning just about every genre, there's a little something here for everyone. Even better, these games are dropping at the perfect time to help get folks through the summer drought.
Over on the PlayStation Blog, SIEA PlayStation Marketing VP Mary Yee has revealed the first 15 games to earn the title of PlayStation Hits. While some of these games made waves when the console first launched, others are much more recent titles, giving players a wide selection to choose from at just 20 bucks a pop. Yee states that additional games will be added to the collection moving forward but, for the time being, here's what you can expect to grab at a discounted rate starting next week.
Bloodborne
Driveclub
inFamous: Second Son
Killzone: Shadow Fall
LittleBigPlanet 3
Ratchet & Clank
The Last of Us
Uncharted 4
Battlefield 4
DOOM
Project Cars
Street Fighter V
Yakuza Kiwami
Yakuza 0
This is the point in the article when I would typically cherry pick a few of the highlights in this kind of promotion, but you can't really go wrong with anything here. Bloodborne is one of my favorite games of all time and, with FromSoftware's new Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice on the horizon, now is as good a time as any to visit the bloodstained streets of Yharnam.
The Yakuza series seems to be gaining a bigger foothold here in the West, so it's also great to see two games from that series make the cut alongside Naughty Dog behemoths Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us.
Including Battlefield 4, Killzone and DOOM means that pretty much every type of FPS fan has something to look forward to, and games like LBP3 and Ratchet & Clank are perfect for the youngsters.
These games will all be marked down to $19.99 as part of the PlayStation Hits collection starting June 28. You'll find those new prices on the PlayStation Store and at participating retailers, so keep your eye out for the new red boxes once the promotion goes live.
If you haven't picked up a PlayStation 4 just yet, a collection like this helps make joining the current generation of gaming a heck of a lot easier on the wallet. And, with exclusives like Spider-Man, Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima on the horizon, it isn't like the party is going to stop anytime soon.
So, now that we have the initial list of PlayStation Hits, what games do you think should be added to the collection next? Let us know in the comments below.
