Overlord Sees Red in Poster For JJ Abrams-Produced Horror Film

Paramount Pictures has debuted the first poster for Overlord, the J.J. Abrams-produced horror film.

Once thought to be the fourth Cloverfield movie, the studio confirmed that Overlord isn’t connected to the already established franchise. As the movie’s marketing continues ahead of its release later this year, Overlord is living up to its horror hype with an atmospheric poster.

Against a red background and black spatters, the stylized lettering is reminiscent of the Wolfenstein games. The minimalistic poster highlights Abrams’ involvement, and shows off a gruesome-looking man who appears to be undergoing a zombie transformation.

Following a group of U.S. paratroopers who find themselves behind enemy lines on the eve of D-Day, Overlord is set to be a bloody adventure as the group discover some supernatural and sinister Nazi experiments. A wartime twist on the zombie genre, audiences have already seen a little more of what Overlord has to offer in the movie’s first teaser.

Although a fourth Cloverfield is still in the works after the mixed reception of Netflix’s The Cloverfield Paradox, there is no news on when fans can expect Cloverfield 4 or what it’s about. In the meantime, Overlord hopes to take a bite out of 2018’s box office with director Julius Avery at the helm.

Arriving Nov. 9 from Paramount Pictures, Overlord stars Jovan Adepo, John Magno, Wyatt Russell, Bokeem Woodbine, Pilou Asbaek, Jacob Anderson and Iain De Caestecker.
