It's only been two years since Tom Holland's Spider-Man debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but in that time the Web-Slinger has gotten quite involved in the superhero community, from serving on Team Iron Man in Captain America: Civil War to helping fight Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. While we won't learn how Spider-Man's "situation" post-Infinity War is handled until Avengers 4 comes out, just a few months after that, Peter Parker will be back on the big screen for Spider-Man: Far From Home. Just like how Spider-Man: Homecoming paired Peter with Iron Man, the plan for Far From Home is for another established MCU hero to pop their head in. However, according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, Doctor Strange will not be that hero. As Feige elaborated:

I could be coy about it but no... I don't wanna get people excited. But Benedict and Holland have liked the idea of working together.

Shortly after Tom Holland "spoiled" the Spider-Man: Far From Home title, it was revealed that the sequel will see Peter Parker traveling to Europe during his summer vacation. Production will take place in London, and Kevin Feige has confirmed that there will indeed be scenes set in England's capital. Keeping in mind that there's a Sanctum Sanctorum located in London, Slashfilm then asked Feige if Doctor Strange will appear in Far From Home, and rather than keep tight-lipped or tease fans about it, Feige decided to nix that theory right then and there.

So while Spider-Man will definitely be getting into superhero shenanigans across the pond, don't expect the Master of the Mystic Arts to mix it up with him. It's okay, though, because Spidey and Stephen Strange have already spent time together in Avengers: Infinity War, and while nothing is certain yet, presumably they'll share screen time in Avengers 4 as well. And even if we also exclude Iron Man from the list, there's still no shortage of MCU heroes who could team up with Web-Head in Far From Home.

Aside from Peter Parker traveling to Europe, all we officially know about Spider-Man: Far From Home is that it will pick up immediately after Avengers 4. That said, it's been reported that Jake Gyllenhaal is being looked at to play Quentin Beck. a.k.a. Mysterio, and Michael Keaton is supposedly reprising Adrian Toomes, a.k.a. Vulture. As for Doctor Strange, Kevin Feige has clarified that Doctor Strange 2 will eventually be made, but a release date hasn't been set in stone yet.

Spider-Man: Far From Home swings into theaters on July 5, 2019, so keep checking back with CinemaBlend for more updates about the sequel, including who that other superhero ends up being.
