Mark Hamill Says Carrie Fisher Should Replace Trump on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Star Wars veteran Mark Hamill has a suggestion for who should replace President Donald Trump should his star be removed from the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame: Hamill’s late co-star, Carrie Fisher.
On Twitter, Hamill retweeted an article from The Hill indicating that the West Hollywood City Council will vote on removing the POTUS’ star from the Walk of Fame. In response, Hamill wrote, “How about replacing it with someone who really earned it? Like @carrieffisher.”

On March 8, Hamill became the 2,630th celebrity to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with a ceremony that included speeches from Harrison Ford and even George Lucas. However, despite her contributions to not just the Star Wars franchise but to Hollywood as a whole, Fisher has yet to receive that honor, even posthumously.
Both Hamill and Fisher (the latter by way of unused footage from Episodes VII and VIII) will return to the big screen for Star Wars: Episode IX. Directed by JJ Abrams, Star Wars: Episode IX also stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Anthony Daniels and Billy Dee Williams, with Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant. The film scheduled to open on December 20, 2019.
