Jack Ryan 5-Film Collection Getting the 4K Blu-ray Treatment
Just in time for Amazon’s upcoming Jack Ryan television series, Paramount is releasing all five films previously adapting Tom Clancy’s fan-favorite hero.
The boxed set includes 1990’s The Hunt for Red October, 1992’s Patriot Games, 1994’s Clear and Present Danger, 2002’s The Sum of All Fears, and 2014’s Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. All the films have been remastered in 4K Ultra-HD for the first time and include digital download codes for each film as well as special features.

The 1990 film stars Alec Baldwin as the first actor to portray Clancy’s CIA analyst trying to intercept the titular Soviet nuclear submarine captained by Sean Connery’s character who is planning to defect to the United States. The 1992 film marks Harrison Ford’s debut in the role as his family becomes targeted by the IRA after foiling an assassination attempt while the 1994 film has Ford reprise his role to combat Colombian drug cartels. The 2002 film sees Ben Affleck take the starring role attempting to avert a war between Russia and the United States while the most recent adaptation has Chris Pine as the title character taking on a nefarious Russian oligarch.
The box set is scheduled to go on sale on Tuesday, August 21 giving fans time to revisit the popular film series ahead the latest Jack Ryan adaptation which stars John Krasinski in the title role.

Jack Ryan is a co-production of Paramount Television, Skydance Media, and Platinum Dunes. The series will be executive produced by Michael Bay and showrunners Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Graham Roland (Fringe) and stars John Krasinski, Wendell Pierce, and Abbie Cornish. The 10-episode first season is scheduled premiere on Amazon on August 31.
