Hawkeye Saves the Universe in Avengers: Infinity War Fan Edit
Back when the first trailers and marketing promos for Avengers: Infinity War were released, fans were perplexed by the exclusion of Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye. The character was nowhere to be seen, and we were told that all of it would be explained in the film. As it turns out, much like Scott Lang, Clint Barton had taken a deal in the fallout of the Sokovia Accords and was now under house arrest. Sadly, the archer didn’t make any surprise appearances or last minute saves in the film.
But that hasn’t stopped some fans from trying. On Reddit, a certain fan took it upon himself to make an edit of the ending of Avengers: Infinity War, one that would position Hawkeye as the savior of the universe and the one who, ultimately, was able to defeat Thanos.

The fan edit features the climactic scene where Thor embeds his axe Stormbreaker into Thanos, moments before the Mad Titan would snap his fingers and wipe out half of all life in the universe. But before Thanos can commit his act of genocide, we cut to footage of Clint Barton, perched far away on top of a building.
The scene, which is actually taken from the Battle of New York in Joss Whedon’s The Avengers, sees Hawkeye exclaim “I got him” and fire one well-placed arrow right into Thanos’ head. The universe is saved — and the shot came from so far away that even Captain America and Thor are confused.
While there is no official footage of Avengers 4 available yet, it’s been reported that Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye will have an important role to play in whatever comes next. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes have just faced their worst defeat yet, and they have quite the battle ahead of them if they hope to defeat Thanos and save the universe. Luckily for them, reinforcements are coming in the form of Ant-Man, Captain Marvel and, of course, Hawkeye.
