Good Omens is a comedic take on the coming of the apocalypse that centers on an attempt by the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley to short-circuit the End Times, and the Antichrist who, because of a mix–up at the hospital, is a seemingly normal boy raised by English parents.
McDormand (Fargo, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) will provide the voice of God, joining a cast that also includes David Tennant as Crowley and Michael Sheen as Aziraphale. Gaiman wrote the six-part series and serves as showrunner.
The End of the World is coming, which means a fussy Angel and a loose-living Demon who’ve become overly fond of life on Earth are forced to form an unlikely alliance to stop Armageddon. But they have lost the Antichrist, an 11-year-old boy unaware he’s meant to bring upon the end of days, forcing them to embark on an adventure to find him and save the world before it’s too late.
Also starring Jon Hamm as the angel Gabriel, Jack Whitehall as wage clerk turned witch-hunter Newton Pulsifer, Michael McKean as witch-finder Sgt. Shadwell, and Miranda Richardson as psychic medium Madame Tracy, Good Omens arrives in 2019 on Amazon Prime.
