Assassin Screenplay 'Nice' to Become a Comic Book
American Gothic Press is working with Echo Lake Entertainment to bring the story to life.
An unproduced screenplay that was intended to become a TV pilot if finding new life as a comic book.
Nice tells the story of two hipster assassins who come to the realization that the organization that employees them is trying to take over the United States. They end up joining forces with a gunslinging, female dtective who had hunted them down before the trio realized they had a bigger evil to take on.
The screenplay was written as a pilot for showrunner Rockne S. O’Bannon and director John Terlesky. While the pilot never came to fruition, American Gothic Press is working with Echo Lake Entertainment to make the story a reality. American Gothic Press is an imprint of Famous Monsters of Filmland, which has turned unproduced screenplays from Irwin Allen’s classic TV series Lost In Space into comic books.
“We are thrilled to have a template with American Gothic Press that will allow for further collaborations with our clients. This new relationship will provide another interesting avenue clients to bring their ideas and work to life,” Amotz Zakai, literary manager at Echo Lake Entertainment, said in a statement.
Nice is created by Joseph Ettinger, known for Netflix's Santa Clarita Diet, and Dagen Walker.They will be onhand at San Diego Comic-Con for a Famous Monsters panel, along with interior artist Marc Rene, variant cover artists Tula Lotay and David Mack. The panel, which will feature teaser artwork, is 5:30 p.m. on Friday in Room 26AB at the San Diego Convention Center.
